What Is a Ribbon Cutting?
A Chamber Ribbon Cutting is a celebratory event that officially marks:
Grand Openings: For new businesses just launching in Truckee.
New Locations: When a business moves to a new physical address.
Significant Anniversaries: Marking a milestone anniversary (e.g., 5, 10, 25 years) in business.
Major Expansions or Renovations: Celebrating substantial improvements or growth.
New Ownership/Management: Introducing new leadership to the community.

What to Expect
The Truckee Chamber of Commerce will assist you in planning and executing a successful ribbon cutting ceremony. Typically, the event includes:
The Big Snip: A ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, with the big scissors, symbolizing the official launch or milestone. A representative from the Town of Truckee and/or Truckee Chamber Board members and staff help make your ribbon cutting official.
Brief Remarks: An opportunity for the business owner/manager to share their vision, thank supporters, and introduce their team.
Photos: The Chamber will take photos of the event to share on our platforms, but many businesses also hire their own professional photographer. We can help you line up good and reasonable photographers who are Truckee Chamber members for your ribbon cutting.
Optional: Many businesses plan a networking party and invite friends, supporters, and often, the public to celebrate their milestone. We are happy to do either a photo opportunity ribbon cutting or a party ribbon cutting, but please keep in mind that we only schedule Ribbon Cuttings during business hours, Monday through Thursday.
