Truckee 4th of July Parade Winners Announced!

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the winners of the 2026 Truckee 4th of July Parade, as thousands of residents and visitors lined the streets of downtown Truckee to celebrate one of the community's most cherished traditions.

Truckee Town Council Member Lindsay Romack and Truckee Chamber Board Member and Porter Simon Attorney Ravn Whitington served as lively MCs, welcoming attendees to downtown Truckee and cracking lots of dad jokes. 101.5 FM was there to announce the parade at the other end of town. Leading the parade were the Truckee Police and the Truckee Chamber of Commerce with a float featuring the Founding Fathers and the Declaration of Independence. Our parade Grand Marshal was Greg Zirbel, President of the Truckee-Donner Historical Society.

This year's parade showcased the creativity, spirit, and hometown pride that make Truckee such a special place. More than 60 entries featuring local businesses, nonprofits, youth organizations, community groups, and classic vehicles brought energy and excitement to the parade route.

Judges, including longtime residents Sandy and Mike Horn, Mandy Stewart of the Executive Office of Nevada County Supervisors, Jessica Penman, President and CEO of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, Truckee Chamber Board Chair and Truckee Cultural District Program Manager Kellie Cutler, and Truckee Mayor Anna Klovstad, had the fun task of selecting the winners. Entries were judged on the use of this year’s theme, 250 Anniversary of the USA, the public’s response, the quality of the entry, and the effort involved. After much deliberation, the following entries were named as the winners:

Best in Show: Truckee Rotary's Truckee River Drill Team

Best Youth Entry: Truckee Pop Warner Cheer and Football

Best Commercial Entry: Mark Tanner Construction

Best Open Entry: Jibboom Street Marching Band

Best Car Club Entry: Military Vehicles of California

Best Nonprofit Entry: Inner Rhythms Dance

In addition to this year's award winners, several memorable moments delighted the crowd throughout the morning. Our own Truckee Chamber Ambassadors led by Machelle Johnson of Auerbach Engineering (as George Washington) put together a float and period costumes commemorating the signing of The Declaration of Independence, drawing smiles and applause. The Tahoe Titans Baseball team had spectators cheering as they performed the iconic "Remember the Titans" dance along the parade route. A-1 Testing impressed judges and parade-goers alike with its creative and eye-catching float.

"From longtime local organizations to first-time participants, every entry helps tell the story of what makes Truckee such a vibrant and connected community.
