September 14, 2021 Recording: Delta Variant and Town Construction Projects

Nevada County is experiencing an unprecedented number of COVID-19 cases admitted to its two hospitals. As of August 24, 2021, Nevada County’s case rate was 49.1 cases per day per 100,000 and the test positivity rate was 12.0%, one of the highest in California. The surge of the Delta Variant is disrupting our long-anticipated recovery and renewing uncertainties for businesses, employees, parents, and students.

On hand will be Nevada County Public Health Officer Dr. Scott Kellermann to provide an update on COVID-19, Delta Variant, vaccines, boosters, mask mandates, and event limitations. Joining him will be Harry Weis, President and CEO Tahoe Forest Health System to provide an update of what we’re seeing locally from our hospital’s perspective.

Also joining the program will be Town of Truckee Director of Public Works Dan Wilkins. Dan will update us on the Summer 2021 construction activity such as the Brockway Road Trail Project, Coldstream Roundabout, and more. He’ll also touch upon future construction activities such as the Truckee River Legacy Trail Phases 4 and 5, West River Street Streetscape Project, Church Street Extension and Trout Creek Restoration, and more.

Good Morning Truckee is a community forum to provide timely, relevant information on a variety of topics. It is open to the public – everyone is invited free of charge. It is held the second Tuesday of every month virtually from 7:30-8:30 am.
