How to Run for Office Workshop, April 17, 2024

Join the Truckee Chamber of Commerce and the Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe for a How to Run for Office Workshop at the Lift Workspace on Wednesday, April 17, from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

This four-hour workshop will help to demystify the running process for local office. Participants will learn how to pull papers and the process for getting on the ballot, how to create a campaign marketing strategy, what it means to manage campaign finances and hear from a panel of current and former elected officials. 

Speakers include:

  • Kelly Carpenter, Town Clerk for the Town of Truckee
  • Katie Shaffer, CEO/Founder, East River PR + Marketing
  • David Diamond, Truckee Tahoe Airport Board of Directors
  • Alicia Barr, Former Truckee Mayor and Truckee Town Council Member
  • Ted Owens, Former Nevada County District 5 Supervisor and Former Truckee Town Council Member
