FiftyFifty Brewing Co., a Truckee original founded almost 20 years ago, has opened the doors to its new flagship brewpub, restaurant, bar, and community gathering space in the heart of Truckee’s historic Railyard District.
Located in the Old Lumberyard, the new venue represents both a return to roots and a step forward — blending the heritage of FiftyFifty’s early days in Truckee with a modern vision for how people gather, eat, drink, and spend time together today.
“This space is about community first,” said Alicia Barr, Co-Founder and Chief Experience Officer. “FiftyFifty was born in Truckee, and this flagship pub reflects who we’ve always been – just with more room and more intention for people to gather, connect, and linger.”

A New Anchor for the Railyard District
The opening marks another major step in the ongoing activation of the Railyard District, transforming the Old Lumberyard into a vibrant destination for locals and visitors alike. Surrounded by fellow community-minded local businesses – both familiar faces and new neighbors – FiftyFifty is designed to be an open, welcoming place. Not just a restaurant, but a shared living room for Truckee.
The venue features:
• A full-service brewpub and restaurant
• A large, flexible bar and lounge environment
• Ample space for large-party dining and group gatherings
• Comfortable areas for unprogrammed hanging out — before dinner, after dinner, apres-ski, or just because.

An Upstairs Mezzanine Designed for Slowing Down
Above the main dining and bar space, the venue includes a thoughtfully designed mezzanine that offers a different pace and perspective.
The Hideout is an intimate, living-room-style space featuring a pour-your-own beer wall, a large screen for shared viewing, and comfortable seating designed for lingering. While the space will occasionally host small, programmed gatherings, it is intentionally left mostly
unprogrammed — a place to settle in, catch up with friends, or simply spend time without an agenda.
Tucked just beyond The Hideout, The Library serves as a quieter offshoot and can be reserved as a private dining room for larger groups or intimate meetings. When not booked, it functions as a calm retreat — a place to relax, listen to records, and take in sweeping views of Mt. Rose and the Carson Range, and of course have a beer.
Together, the mezzanine spaces expand the traditional pub vibe beyond dining, oRering places to pause, connect, and enjoy the space in a more personal way.

A Truckee Story, Continuing Forward
FiftyFifty Brewing Co. began in Truckee close to two decades ago, and while the company has grown, its identity remains deeply tied to the region. The new space is both a reflection of that history and a commitment to Truckee’s future — a space designed to last, adapt, and serve as a hub for years to come.
“We’re proud to be part of the Old Lumber Yard and the broader Railyard community,” said Andy Barr, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “This is a special place with great partners, and we’re excited to contribute something meaningful to it.”
The new FiftyFifty Brewing Co. brewpub, restaurant, and community gathering space is now open at 10242 Church Street, Truckee, CA.
