Council Approves Permit Fee Waiver for Storm Damaged Buildings & Infrastructures

On March 14, 2023, the Truckee Town Council approved an expedited permit process and waiver of permit fees for storm damaged buildings and infrastructures.  Residents and business owners with storm damage are encouraged to contact the Town of Truckee Building Division so that a Town Building Inspector can assess the property and damage.

The Town of Truckee has become aware of structural building issues throughout town since the last atmospheric river delivered substantial wet snow and rain to our area on top of the significant snowfall accumulated. Town staff, including the Town’s Chief Building Official, have been on site at different residential and commercial buildings and are working with property owners to assess their damage. We want to encourage community members to partner with our Town staff on this process and to obtain the waiver that is available to support the repair of these structures.

The Building Division is committed to assuring safety in the built environment while meeting the needs of the development community in an efficient, equitable and cost-effective manner. You can contact the Building Division by calling (530) 582-7821 or emailing cdd@townoftruckee.com.

The Building Division hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00AM - 12:00PM and 1:00PM - 4:00PM.  The building counter at Town Hall is closed to the public on Fridays, but staff is still available via phone and email.

Permits fee waiver will continue through September 4, 2023.
