Destination Marketing & Management

Established in 2020, Visit Truckee-Tahoe is the Destination Marketing & Management Organization (DMMO) for Truckee, California that promotes sustainable tourism in Truckee, California.

Visit Truckee-Tahoe protects, preserves, promotes and enhances Truckee as an authentic mountain town. We serve our members, partner with key organizations and balance our actions for the well-being of our community.

Previously known as “Visit Truckee” (a program under the Truckee Chamber of Commerce), on August 4th, 2020 Visit Truckee (dba Visit Truckee-Tahoe) formed as an independent 501c6 membership organization with a six-member Board of Directors. On Sept. 22, 2020, the Town of Truckee approved Visit Truckee to serve as the new Owners Association for the 2020-2025 Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID) Management District Plan, starting October 1, 2020. This plan now includes destination stewardship, management and educational visitor communications.

Visit Truckee-Tahoe is funded by a 2% (1.25% on January 1, 2020) tourism self-assessment fee (a.k.a TTBID) levied on room nights booked at hotels and short-term rentals within the municipal boundaries of Truckee, California. Unlike Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) the TTBID tourism fee is not a tax that funds local government services. Learn More
