Truckee Seniors Recognized in Downtown with Individual Banners

Parents and the broader community have come together to make and install banners to celebrate graduating seniors from Truckee High School and Sierra High School. These banners are hung on poles in the downtown Truckee area starting at the roundabout near Burger Me and extending to downtown and into the Railyard Project. We hope you can visit this area to celebrate the seniors and the community spirit that made this project happen!  After the banners come down in mid-June, they will be given to each of the graduating seniors as keepsakes.

The banners would not have happened without the critical support of these people: Rose Weskamp from Sign Source, Kathy Hess Slocum from Just Imagine Marketing and Design, Christina Cutler at Cutler Graphic Design, Chelsea Walterscheid, and Matt Hippler. The support and time of Truckee High Principal Logan Mallonee, Sierra High Principal Greg Wohlman, and Superintendent Dr. Robert Leri were instrumental in making this project happen.

Numerous individuals, families, and local businesses made donations for this project. The generosity of the community was overwhelming, and those involved with the project would like to thank everyone that donated to the banners. Special thanks to Zano’s, Langenkamp, Curtis & Price, Mountain Home Center, and the Darzynkiewicz Family for their the substantial financial contributions.

This project would not have been possible without the support of the Town of Truckee, the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association, and Vice Mayor/Town Council member Anna Klovstad. The organizers are so grateful for the community’s support and recognition of our high school seniors.
