Truckee's paths and trails span from paved bike paths to scenic world-class built single-track trails that can be enjoyed by all types of rider or runner abilities. Take the whole family out on the Legacy Trail that runs along the picturesque Truckee River, from downtown Truckee west to Glenshire. Or, head up Johnson Canyon, a single track trail for bikes, hikers, or runners that looks over Donner Lake. Truckee features a large network of trails for whatever type of adventure you seek.

Truckee Trails

Explore over 17 miles of scenic paved trails in Truckee or miles of world-class built singletrack trails. The Legacy Trail is paved and usually clear from snow in the winter to walk, run or bike within 24 hours. Legacy Trail Map PDF > Digital Version >. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on paved Truckee bike paths but electric bikes are not considered motorized vehicles. All classes of electric bikes are allowed on Truckee's paved paths.

Tahoe Trails

The Lake Tahoe Bike Map is the most comprehensive bike trail map for the region.  Produced by the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition with support from Map Sponsors, this easy-to-use trail map is an excellent way to plan your Tahoe-Truckee cycling adventure. Free maps are also available at businesses and visitor centers throughout the Tahoe-Truckee region. Paved + Single Track Maps

The Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that builds, maintains, and advocates for multi-use trails in Tahoe while providing education to all trail users and hosting fun community events. TAMBA works in partnership with land managers such as the U.S. Forest Service, Nevada State Parks, California State Parks, and the City of South Lake Tahoe. In addition, TAMBA helps maintain more than 100 miles of trail per year. TAMBA is dedicated to the stewardship of sustainable, multiple-use trails and to preserving access for mountain bikers through advocacy, education and promotion of responsible trail use.

Trailforks Truckee Zoomed in Map

The Lake Tahoe Bikeways Map is Tahoe’s most comprehensive bike trail map. Check out the new, interactive bike map produced by the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition! The map provides bike path directions, bike shop locations, and bike parking information.

Take control - The control box in the bottom right let’s you control what you view on the map, such as the location of bike shops around the Tahoe/Truckee region.

Improve the map - Use the “Improve the Map” option to tag the map. Is our map missing a bike rack? Tag it!

Report problems - Submit a report on anything that slows you down on your bike: potholes in your bike path, construction zones, missing bike route connections and much more.
