Stampede Dam and Reservoir is located on the
Little Truckee River, seven miles north of Truckee.
The 3,340-acre reservoir is a California Department
of Fish and Game target fishery for hatchery
catchables, and year-round fishing serves up all the
usual suspects, plus Mackinaw trout. Boating,
camping, mountain biking, picnicking, watersports,
and winter fun.
